Juan J. Bermúdez and Adriel
Longo, electrical engineers, met in the early 1960’s while working together
for a large electromechanical contractor in Puerto Rico. At the time, large
construction firms in the island were subsidiaries or partially owned by
huge foreign companies.
It was in 1962 when they decided to venture with their own construction
business.
The company originally specialized in the electrical construction of housing
projects. Later on, with the demand for larger and more complex commercial
projects, Bermúdez & Longo, S.E. also positioned itself to service this
sector. By the mid 1970’s, now a mature specialty construction organization,
the company engaged in the more complex industrial field with the advent of
the highly specialized mechanical division by the 1980’s.
In recent years, Bermúdez & Longo, S.E. extended its offerings to a broad
array of new and dedicated industry sectors including highways,
telecommunications, infrastructure and maintenance.
