Díaz-Massó S.E. is the largest, locally owned, specialty
contractor in the Caribbean. We rank 1st in the electrical and mechanical
contractors classification and 3rd when classified as a construction
company.
Recently we attained solid financial targets with revenues over $100 million
in an environment of weakened global economic conditions. The path we have
embarked upon – to be the leading specialty contractor focused on a diverse
industry base – is helping us achieve our goals of providing stable
financial results and a platform to grow from.
In addition to achieving solid financial performance, we continued to
successfully integrate new construction divisions. As part of this
integration process, we created overall standards of excellence throughout
our operations and streamlined operations to improve construction
efficiencies.We made significant strides in reducing corporate overhead
costs while continuing to retain and attract talented people to help us

Since 1962 Bermúdez & Longo, S.E.
(Bermúdez, Longo, Díaz-Massó S.E) has operated successfully increasing
the original net worth from $20,000 to over $41,000,000. The Company’s growth is the result of the
amount of repeat business received from clients who have found it convenient
and profitable to retain Bermúdez, Longo, Díaz-Massó S.E. as their preferred
subcontractor.
Another important factor that contributed toward our sustained growth is
customer diversification. The company participates in a wide array of
industry sectors, usually performing better in those that grow while
stabilizing in those that fail.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Díaz-Massó S.E. offers training and further education in almost all
aspects of our business. We provide our personnel with the courses and
seminars to upgrade the professional skills and to improve the creative and
critical competence of their work.
EXPERIENCE
Under the leadership of our
supervisors, our field labor force, averaging over 1000 skilled &
semi-skilled craftsmen, is firmly bound to the company and its objectives.
Thirty percent of our personnel have been with the
company for more than fifteen (15) years and sixty percent for more than
seven (7) years.

SAFETY
Bermúdez, Longo,
Díaz-Massó S.E. has an Accident Prevention Program based on a sincere
desire to eliminate personal injury, occupational illness, equipment and
property damage, and to protect its employees, as well as the general public
and customer’s employees. Company management and project supervision are
charged with the responsibility of implementing and enforcing safety
policies and guidelines. Responsibility for the administration of the Safety
and Accident Prevention Program has been assigned by the President of the
Company to the Safety Director. The Safety Director and Project Manager
assist in the surveillance of the projects, and audit their programs to
ensure compliance with the company’s policies and with state and federal
safety regulations and guidelines. Project Managers hold monthly meetings
with craft Superintendents and craft Foremen to evaluate, discuss, and
analyze the effectiveness of the safety programs. Written reports of these
meetings are submitted to the division Manager’s) and to the Safety
Director. The project meetings are intended to improve safety practices and
to ensure adherence to the company’s standards of safety. Failure to observe
safety standards is cause for the immediate discharge of violators.
Agencies’ standards for safety and health for the construction and
maintenance industry systematically are reviewed by the Safety Director.
Bermúdez, Longo, Díaz-Massó S.E. will occasionally modify its safety program to fit
the needs of a specific client or project. (The standards must be as high or
higher than our program). The following are some basic safety standards of
practices applicable to all Bermúdez, Longo, Díaz-Massó S.E.’s work.
• 100% eye and fall protection
• Training for foremen, general foremen
and supervision
• Pre-work orientation
• Incentive safety awards for craftsmen
• Weekly inspection of lifting equipment
• Job site inspection
The deliberate attitude and continued determination of all Bermúdez, Longo,
Díaz-Massó S.E. personnel to achieve the highest possible measure of safety and the
prevention of accidents is a high priority goal. Although we are engaged in
many projects which normally carry a high risk, such as heavy and highway
work and commercial building projects, we have maintainedan enviable safety
record in the industry, Bermúdez, Longo, Díaz-Massó S.E. s main concern in the
constant development and updating of its safety programs has always been the
welfare of our people. Proper training, the involvement of all project
personnel, including client personnel, and the constant analysis of results
will continue to improve our performance records and lower our overall job
costs. Our company-wide Workers’ Compensation Experience Modifier (EMR) for
recent years will be furnishedupon request.
In addition to our on-going efforts to control the number of accident and
injuries on each project, we are also concentrating on reducing the nature
and severity of possible injuries. As a result of this effort, the average
Bermúdez, Longo, Díaz-Massó S.E’s cost per claim is well below the industry average.

available safety incentive programs.
